What goes in. What stays out.

How it feels

Why cool, then warm?

Your skin senses temperature through tiny receptors. Plant compounds such as those in mint and camphor are known to interact with them, which is why a botanical cream can feel cool first and then gently warm.

The cold receptor TRPM8 was identified using menthol, a compound from the mint family. The discovery of the body's temperature receptors was awarded the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
